DESCRIPTION:Presenting data from a forthcoming book, Ian Greener considers which country’s healthcare system can claim to be the best one.\n
 Exploring social determinants, health funding, health expenditure (and the response to COVID-19, if we have time), Ian explored patterns of sufficient conditions for achieving strong health outcome measures, utilising data from the OECD and Commonwealth Fund. He then considered what these factors mean for healthcare in the UK.\n
 Ian Greener is Professor of Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde. Ian has written a range of books and journal articles about healthcare, especially in terms of the NHS. The book (‘Comparing Health Systems’) on which the talk was based will be out this year (Policy Press). Ian has co-written articles of one kind or another with a distressing number of HSMC staff.\n
