Visit our new exhibition where we celebrate 125 years of student life and research centred around the Lapworth Museum of Geology.
This year marks 125 years of groundbreaking research and education centred around the Lapworth Museum and the palaeontological and geological programmes at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. Since the University’s founding, the Lapworth and its associated programmes have been important parts of the University’s civic mission to support local industries and expand access to higher education. Beyond local impact, these programmes of research and study have long brought together students and academics from around the world, thus touching the far corners of the planet.
Our new temporary exhibition narrates the story of a lively and evolving place told through objects, key events, and some of the people who made it what it is today. This was put together by a group of seven ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students during the spring of 2025. Together, they have collated material from the archives and collections held at the Lapworth Museum, oral history interviews with former students, and their own lived experiences.
The exhibition is free to visit.
