Dhama is pursuing her PhD studies with a distinguished full scholarship from the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP). She holds a degree in Biology from Gadjah Mada University, awarded by a TPSDP scholarship from Ministry of Education, and a master's degree from IPB University, obtained via a EOS Consultants Postgraduate scholarship. She has also received research fellowships from DAAD and IPB University.
Before pursuing her PhD, Dhama served as an environmental consultant for 15 years and held certification as an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) compiler. As an environmental consultant, the responsibilities encompass EIA, EIA Addenda, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Environmental Baseline Assessments, Efforts for Environmental Management and Monitoring, and environmental monitoring reports, particularly within the oil and gas sector.
She was also tasked with securing technical approval for the disposal of drilling mud waste and drill cuttings into the sea, as well as for drainage, domestic wastewater, and emissions. Subsequently, she participated in the application procedure for the Approval of the Conformity of Marine Spatial Utilization Activities for multiple oil and gas operational regions in Indonesia.
