Biography

Emma joined Birmingham Business School in 2018. Prior to that, her PhD research investigated the impact of regulation, technology and competition on the dynamics of the West Midlands accounting industry, as well as on the working lives of accountants.

Postgraduate supervision

Emma is interested in supervising research on business and professional services firms, and sustainability in global value chains.

Research

Emma’s current research is exploring the dynamics of multinationals global value chains with a focus on corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

Emma’s doctoral research investigated the impact of regulation, technology and competition on the dynamics of the West Midlands accounting industry, as well as on the working lives of accountants.
