Dr Will Lester is a Consultant Haematologist at and clinical service lead for haematology laboratory and fetal anomaly screening service. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Cardiovascular Sciences, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
He is a principal investigator for multiple clinical trials including a phase 1 Haemophilia gene therapy study. Areas of clinical an academic interest include Haemostasis and Thrombosis, Immuno-haematology and Obstetric Haematology. He has published multiple scientific papers in the NEJM, Lancet, Nature Medicine and Blood. In 2022, he was co-recipient of a Royal College of Pathology Achievement award for his work on VITT. He is chair of the NEQAS blood coagulation steering group, co-chair of the UKHCDO laboratory working party and vice chair of the British Society of Haematology H&T taskforce. He has been an invited speaker for multiple national and international societies and regularly contributes to national guidelines for multiple organisations including NICE.
