My research interests include interdisciplinarity, the philosophy of interdisciplinarity, and ancient and continental philosophy.

I convene the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's ITD Education Group. The membership of this includes staff from across the university with interests in teaching interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity, as well as pedagogical innovation.

I am co-editing the article collection ‘Practice-Based Research of Interdisciplinary Higher Education’ for the journal Humanities and Social Sciences Communications of Springer Nature with Ida Kemp, Catherine Lyall, and Iris van der Tuin. I am also co-editing a book on Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching: Pedagogies and Practice.

Research

Simon’s research is in interdisciplinary studies and the philosophy of interdisciplinarity, as well as ancient and continental philosophy. He leads the university’s Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Education Group.
